Sustainable architecture is the environmentally conscious design techniques in the fields of architecture, engineering, and construction. Sustainable architecture seeks to reduce the negative environmental impact of buildings by enhancing efficiency and moderation in the use of materials, energy, and development space. Sustainable design is a broad concept which aims to reduce the adverse effect of human activities on our world, particularly climate change. The built environment has a profound impact on our natural environment, economy, health, and productivity. Buildings account for considerable use of electricity consumption, energy use, raw materials use, and potable water consumption. Buildings produce considerable amounts of carbon dioxide ( CO2) emissions and waste output. Buildings can contribute to the deterioration of the earth’s protective ozone layer (ozone depletion) and they can also increase greenhouse gas emissions to the atmosphere (global warming).
