Mukhtar Kabuka managed this noise-abatement-modification project of a private school from design to construction administration. This school is located near the O’Hare Airport, which made it quite challenging to isolate the airport noise from the school. This is new additions and renovations project. The scope of work included administration renovation, classrooms renovations, gymnasium modification, cafeteria modification, addition of computer lab, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical renovations. Work included the replacement of existing windows, replacement of several doors, the replacement of portions of the existing heating and cooling systems, the installation of new lighting and ceiling systems, the installation of new cabinetry, the installation of new vestibule, and construction on a new masonry enclosure for the new air cooled condensing unit.
